Roughly 90 years of time has passed since a sponge wholesale store called Nakamura Shoten was established in 1930. We will continue to follow the same mission, that is to deliver “safe and secure” products supported by advanced technology to satisfy the needs of our valued customers.

History of Taiki Group
1930
Founded at 1930 in Japan, Taiki started as a family-owned sea sponge business. Taiki began to produce sea sponges for makeup application and became a globally recognized sea sponge supplier.
1960
Because sea sponges grow bacteria and become hardened over time, Taiki searched for a safer, more effective alternative.
The synthetic rubber sponge was firstly introduce by Taiki - allergy-free and safe to use - improving the makeup application process for makeup industry.
1965
With the development of synthetic sponges, Taiki has grown from a sea sponge supplier to an innovator.
As Taiki continued its research for more effective and safe products, cosmetic sponge evolved into applicators, which led to makeup brushes and many other application solutions.
1995
To develop skincare category, our Japanese factories obtained quasi-drug certifications, and started to produce facial masks.
Taiki Group is now one of the top masks supplier with more than 150 million bags produced per year.
2008
To better support its customers, Taiki Group created Taiki Cosmetics Europe, sales office based in Paris, dedicated to European leading cosmetic companies as well as new emerging beauty brands.
2017
Taiki Group inaugurated a new Research & Innovation center in Osaka, to continue the innovation story of the company.
